Solicitation Letter

January 10, 2008

Dear Supporter,

The San Diego County Motor Officers' Association will be hosting our annual Police Motorcycle Training and Competition on September 11-12, 2008. This years event is being held at Legoland, California, in the beautiful southern California City of Carlsbad. This event affords police motorcycle officers the opportunity to brush up on riding skills, help to promote officer safety and training, as well as boost morale. This promises to be an exciting and wonderful event.

Participants will be allowed to practice and improve their riding skills while negotiating a designated course. The Thursday session will consist of practice on the various cone patterns that allow for both slow and higher speed combined skills. The Friday session expands on this by allowing participants to compete in an enjoyable skills oriented event. The Friday competition consists of individual and two officer teams riding a timed course, which uses several exercises and assesses penalty times for errors. There will also be a double elimination, single rider competition on a designated course. Awards will be presented to the top riders in all events.

The San Diego County Motor Officers' Association is requesting donations to help in our fundraising efforts at this years event. Proceeds this year will benefit Trauma Intervention Programs of San Diego County. Any merchandise, gift certificates or services you provide will help to ensure the success of the event. Cash contributions are also greatly appreciated.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available and there is space available for supporters to set up a display at the event to promote their organization or company. Please see the enclosed list.

Officers and their families, friends and the general public are encouraged to attend and watch this event. Parking and spectator viewing areas will be clearly designated. Spectators and participants should bring their own chairs, as seating will not be provided.

We appreciate your participation, and look forward to seeing you in September. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at: work (858) 495-7800, or direct (619) 990-5604.

Sincerely,
Bob van Wulven
President
